Redact a PDF, free.
Cover what should not travel with the file, permanently, and download it.
Nothing is uploaded. In this browser — which matters more here than anywhere else. A document you are redacting is by definition one you do not want to send anybody, including us.
How this redacts. Every page you draw a box on is turned into a picture of itself, with the black painted into the picture. The words under the boxes are removed from the file, not hidden — nobody can select, copy or uncover them. The cost is that a redacted page becomes an image and its text can no longer be selected or searched. Pages without boxes are kept as they are. The file’s title, author, dates and other details, and any comments and attachments, are removed from the whole document.
